December 2012 lambs.
First lamb of 2013!
01-26-13
Lambs4ewe lambs are naturally raised on pasture and hay. Lambs are allowed access to free choice mineral and just enough grain to keep them coming when I holler “Here lamby, lamby!”. This amounts to about 2 ½ gallons for 60-80 lambs at the end of the day- hardly a bite for each. Ram lambs are intact- tails and testicles. Ewe lambs generally have their tails docked.
Lambs4ewe sells replacement ewe lambs as well as live lambs for meat. Lambs for meat are sold live, by the pound. Delivery to a local processing facility is available for an additional $20. The purchaser is responsible for all processing arrangements and costs in addition to the price of the live lamb.
It is impossible to determine the exact pounds of meat each lamb will yield. Generally, lambs have a much lower dressing percentage then cattle or hogs- usually less than 50%.
